Here's a simple DIY that will instantly add a little character to any new or existing bookcase.
I wanted to add a pop of color to the back of these book shelves and had an idea of the print I wanted... I considered wallpapering the back, but I didn't want to wait for it to be shipped to me, so instead, I grabbed some paint and a brush and got to painting. It's definitely not perfect, but it works 🙂
I checked out a few places for some cute containers where I could store all of our art supplies, but nothing hit the price range I was looking for... to be honest, I didn't want to spend a fortune on anything.
I then had an idea. I saved up a bunch of cashew containers from Costco and repurposed them by spray painting the lids gold... super easy and I felt good about reusing and recycling plastic containers, which I try to be mindful about.
I love that this shelf holds many of the children's creations, supplies & decorative items as well.
We will be homeschooling this year, due to COVID, and I've started a small collection of resources we can use. It will be fun to see how this collection grows!
So there you have it... another super simple, quick & affordable DIY to try out.
If you do, let me know how it goes!
