Aloha and welcome to my blog!
If you are looking for DIY and crafting projects, home decorating inspiration or fun projects to make and do with your keiki (children), well, you have come to the right place!
My name is Kanoe, but some of my favorite people call me mama. I was born and raised in Hawaii. Spending good, quality time with my husband, our keiki and extended family and friends is what I love most. You will often find me working on a DIY project, crafting or decorating the former animal feed room on our family farm, which we now call our home… more about that in a sec!
I also love being in the garden or cooking up a nice and healthy meal for my family. I hope to one day be almost fully self-sustainable, but for now, we’re working on it 🙂
Random fun facts about me: I love math. I eat a lot of vegan food (although I’m not 100% vegan). I also love vegan chocolate and prefer hand-picked flowers over store bought florals. Handmade gifts, or thoughtful gestures are my fave. I love a simple life- I don’t need much to make me happy… but a really cute outfit also makes me happy! I am Hawaiian and my culture is a huge part of who I am. Family- I mentioned it a few times before 😉 they are my everything. Be warned. You will probably read about everything I just mentioned, at some point or other, in my blog 🙂
So, about our home (and one of the reasons I started this blog)… it is a 700 square foot cottage, which started off as an animal feed room on our family farm. We also call it the chicken coop. The previous owners later added on a bathroom and a kitchen, and then two bedrooms, to the original feed room.
When we moved in, we kept the structure of the building, but with a whole lotta paint, some new flooring and about 500 DIY projects later, we are now happy to call it our home. (Read about it HERE)
It’s nothing fancy, but it is just what we need to enjoy our happy, simple life! I hope you enjoy it too!
